‘Hacking’ My Body with the 4 minute ROM workout machine
Jothan, Meetings — By jothan on August 11, 2007 at 9:32 amWhat do people think of the fastexercise.com “ROM” workout machine?
Please comment!
OK, I came to a relization that I am a growing boy, and unfortunately that stopped being vertical growth after age 19. Realizing that I can have more energy, and be more healthy in general if I do more exercise than I currently am doing, I decided to step up and do something. First step of course is to break away from a pattern of oreo binges.
I travel a lot (hence the name of my blog), and I notice there is an ad in the in flight magazines for the ROM 4 minute workout machine. 4 minutes a day of intensive workout. No More. No Less. I can afford 4 minutes’ time.
With tax and shipping and what not, a unit comes in at just about 16k in costs, but I mentally justified the amount because I figure (hope) that perhaps the benefits are far greater than that amount.
Should I make this purchase?
I will open up comments on this one to the general public to see what comes back before I move on this, because of the amount to be spent here.

I toyed with the idea of ordering their 30 day trial. It costs $2500; you get $1000 back if you decide not to keep it. What I don’t like is the amount of space it takes up (5×11 feet). Also, their FAQ mentioned that delivery/installation only goes smoothly 85% of the time. Too much hassle. Will just try to eat fewer Oreos. But would love to hear how it goes if you do get it.
?Jothan,
Don’t waste your money! Go to a pool, start thrashing up and down till you can do 20 50m laps in 20 minutes. Then up it to 30 laps in 30 minutes. Do swimming lessons if you need too.
And buy a bicycle and cycle as much as you can!
There were stories in the media this week you need to do 30 minutes of VIGOROUS exercise 3 times per week! No less!
Cheers

Or you could try clenbuterol. It’s a veterinary medication normally used to treat asthma in horses and causes rapid weight loss in humans.
Or you could eat cotton wool, make yourself sick, purge on laxatives and live on a diet of only lemonade and cayenne pepper. From http://news.independent.co.uk/uk/this_britain/article2889435.ece
?Hey Jothan,
The owner of the ROM company is a domainer. He was at the Domain Roundtable just gone.
Cheers

?Hi Andrew-
It was good to see you there at the Domain Roundtable, and I met the person at the conference who owns the ROM company.
He challenged me to get feedback on the equipment from the public like this before I spend the money to obtain one.
So I am.
Will see you at the ICANN meetings in Los Angeles or in Hollywood at the upcoming DomainFest Global event there in January.
?Jothan – The creator of the machine is Alf Temme, he has been a domainer for a long time. It is a cool looking machine though.
But for 25k I’d get a treadmill (future clothes hanger), a bow flex (future suitcase holder), nutri-system (Dan Marino can do it), and a mail order bride all for less than 25k.
Then if that doesn’t work ask Alf to send you a demo.
