I’ll be part of a panel at HostingCon in July to talk about domain monetization and internet advertising. The hosting industry is somewhat aware of this, but I think that there are some shifts coming in how they can turn customer loss or abandonment into opportunity, especially in a climate of fierce price competition in the marketplace.

My co-workers are all on their way to DomainFest Amsterdam this week, and the lineup is very impressive.

I am getting ready to head to Lisbon, and already have some responsibilities ahead of me.
There is a tutorial workshop on the domain marketplace on Sunday 3/25 that is shaping up to be a great method of learning about the domain aftermarket. I am moderating the second of two afternoon panels, more info and a list of panelists on the ICANN Public Participation site.

Rick Schwartz, Howard Neu, and the team at WADND put on an AWESOME conference yet again. Great speakers, great food, great networking.
The Targeted Traffic conference pulls together an amazing collection of people from all over the world and many different occupations and industries.

DomainPulse in Baden, Switzerland was a strong conference that made it clear to me that the European domain marketplace is quite robust.
Each year, the German (.DE), Swiss (.CH/.LI), Austrian (.AT) registries take turns hosting the conference.
Next year is in Vienna, Austria, and I recommend attending one if you never have.
